Hi beautiful! I am so happy you found my little corner online.
My name is Wilmé (Vilmay). I’m a creative soul and mama of 3. I love finding the beauty in every day and creating magical memories with my little family.
Life has been filled with ups and downs - beauty and tragedy. But the one constant has always been how creativity can heal my heart
I was born and raised in South Africa. My childhood was spent barefoot and swimming in our pool pretending to be a mermaid. I swam so much my blonde hair turned green! But I loved every minute of it!
As a teenager my family immigrated to Canada. We settled in a small snowy town in Saskatchewan and spent our summers at the beautiful lakes surrounded by forest. My favourite memory is swimming at night under the full moon- hearing the loons in the distance.
Thankfully I found the love of my life and was blessed with 3 beautiful kids. Through Al-anon and my faith in Jesus I learned how to live one day at a time. I challenged myself to find things to be thankful for and made a point to find Beauty in all it’s forms. Whether it’s painting, sculpting clay, playing with natural dyeing techniques or just simply crafting with my kids, I have learned that a bit of creative time heals the soul.
It is so true what Pablo Picasso said ““Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
Although life is sad and full of hardship there is always beauty and wonder to be found.
Unfortunately life hasn’t always been easy. When I was young teen my mom started suffering from mental illness and addiction. As soon as I became a mom, my mom passed away. Soon after my little brother suffered from the same illness. Watching people I love disappear right in front of me, walking alongside them as they battle the most ravaging illness and trying every way I can to help them but not getting anywhere, left me numb and helpless. I lost my spark and life just didn’t seem kind and magical anymore.
Losing loved ones taught me how short life is and it needs to be lived to the fullest. The bravest thing we ever did was to homeschool our kids, sell our house and show our children all 4 oceans. It is on this trip that I could dream again and decided to start creating fabric and art collections to sell in stores.
Spreading beauty is my mission. My hope is that you will feel that beauty in my collections.
